International Justice Mission announced recently that the organization has rescued the 100th child to date in 2017 from labor trafficking in Ghana. Two boys were rescued from the fishing industry on Lake Volta, where they will no longer be victims of trafficking.
The Ghana Police Anti-Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU) is also starting to investigate their own cases, indicating a trend reversal in the acceptance of child slaves as suspects are prosecuted.
